1930s Palm Beach by Goodall Double Breasted Summer Suit
1930s Palm Beach by Goodall Double Breasted Summer Suit
Excited to offer a genuine 1930s Palm Beach Cloth suit in a crisp white. From The Met museum website: "In 1908, Goodall Worsted Co., of Sanford, Maine, purchased the patent for a tropical weight mohair-cotton blend fabric developed by William S. Nutter. Goodall called the fabric Palm Beach cloth and sold it directly to tailors and manufacturers. In 1931, the company also began to produce suits from the cloth. The washable suit was comfortable to wear and the Palm Beach suit became the staple of the well-dressed man's summer wardrobe."
Here we have a handsome double breasted suit with peaked lapels and cuffed pleated trousers. Jacket is fitted throughout with darts along the side for shaping. A classic 30s silhouette in a very collectible fabric from the time.
